A few weeks back, Google announced its Android 8.0 – Oreo. While all the Android phone owners registered this news, the owners of Nexus One are not sure on whether they would get this update on their phone officially. Only Nexus 5X and 6P users are eligible to rejoice this new OS on their phones.
What about the 8.0 Experimental Version?Though ROM developers always come up with a different build of Android OS for old smartphones, the Nexus 4 users have a different reason altogether to jump with joy. This is so because an XDA Forums developer has managed to build an experimental version of Oreo that is compatible with this smartphone.
The phone Nexus 4 was a result of the association between Google and LG in the year 2012. It was quite a popular smartphone model but time took its toll on it and both the companies gradually forgot about this wonderful phone. The last software update for this phone was Android Lollipop in the year 2015.
NoteDo take a note of this fact that Oreo for Nexus 4 is just an experimental version and not the official one. There would be some bugs in this version and it may not perform exactly the way official version does.
