With over 2 billion users worldwide, Facebook is currently the largest social media platform that serves as a virtual hub not only for friends and families but also for businesses. It’s more than just a place to communicate with people you know. Facebook became an accelerator of news, blogs, advertising, etc.
The Facebook app is a handy tool which brings all this enormous stream of information to your smartphone. It allows you to add friends as well as like and share posts while Facebook gradually collect data about your interests and then recommend news and events.
The biggest issue that tends to concern most users is the fact that the Facebook app doesn’t have a messaging function. To send or check messages, you have to download another app called Messenger. It’s a little bit inconvenient because you’ll need to go back and forth if you need all Facebook’s functions.
Beyond that, the Facebook app provides all the functionality you would expect — share, like, comment on posts, and follow pages so that their posts will appear on your timeline. You can also turn on notifications for posts not to miss anything you might like.
Opening links in your timeline will redirect your screen to the in-app browsers or default browser of your phone if you choose so. You can also save links, pictures, and videos to check them out later.
The timeline doesn’t seem to be perfect for all users, though. Many don’t like that the posts are not placed in chronological order, which means you can miss the latest posts while the old ones with more likes are on top.
Although there is some room for improvement, it is still a simple and effective way to keep up to date with friends and family while on the go.
Facebook is not a perfect app, but it certainly a great way to find friends, new interests, cool events, contact some businesses and so on. It’s the largest social network where you can follow friends, celebrities, communities, brands, and so on.
Facebook is a great opportunity to browse through the news, memes, videos, and photos and learn more about any topic you are interested in.
