Everything You Need To Know About Google Pixel 2
Once you come out of hiding from the whole 23rd September “DOOMSDAY” scare, you might be interested in the next big date - October 4th. Why? Well, only because Google is about to unveil their latest additions to the smartphone community. The Google Pixel 2 series have, like most devices, been on the end of some major speculations and while it turned out to be 100% accurate for the Samsung Galaxy Note8 and the pocket-burning iPhone X, we are yet to discover just exactly how true the leaks were. Anyway, here are some of the biggest, probably most accurate speculations about the upcoming Google Pixel 2 series.
2 Sizes For Double The Fun
We've seen it with the iPhone 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8, and now we're about to see it with the Google devices. According to credible sources, the Pixel 2 will come in 2 different sizes - the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. Quite obviously, the bigger will cost more but should carry the same specs as its smaller counterpart. The major difference between the two would be screen size.
Designed To Stand Out
According to rumors, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will feature an almost identical design like the previous Pixel on its back - remember the glass panel? If the renders are to be believed, the new series definitely has more curves than last time which will make it exceedingly comfortable to hold. Like last year's Pixels, Google has teamed up with the same two companies to manufacture the devices. One is HTC (which Google bought for $1.1 billion), and the other is LG. But, unlike last year, HTC has been used for the Pixel 2 and LG for the ‘high end’ Pixel 2 XL. In terms of color options, the Pixel 2 will be available in Blue, White, and Black, while the Pixel 2 XL will come in black or a piano-esque black and white combination.
Only The Best Specifications
Google seems to wait for just the right amount of time before showcasing their devices, and the Pixel 2 series has benefited from that just fine. Housing some of the latest, and probably most powerful specs in the smartphone world, these devices look to be power packed and ready to go. Sources say that both the Pixel 2’s will have AMOLED displays with super wide aspect ratios of 18:9. Both devices are also said to be fitted with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset that is backed up with 4GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the devices will sport 64GB and 128GB variants. Sadly though, the devices will not come with an SD card slot, so users will have to make-do with what they have.
One interesting feature that could set the Pixel 2 series apart from the rest is a squeezable pressure sensitive edge which will make using the device really cool. Another let down (sort of) is the exclusion of dual camera lens. While most of the companies are enjoying the popularity of this feature, Google feels that their single camera lens is adequate for the perfect shot.
Pricing And Release Dates
Now we get to the fun part. How much does the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL cost? Well, we can assure you it will not be as expensive as the original Pixel series that topped out at a whopping $1419. On the other hand, it won't be cheap either. Estimates set the devices to have a price tag of $649 for the 64GB Pixel 2 and $749 for the 128GB Pixel 2. The Pixel 2 XL will set you back $849 and $949 for the 64GB and 128GB respectively. As mentioned earlier, the devices are set to be unveiled on the 4th of October and people are eagerly waiting to see what Google has to offer this time around.
